It has been 17 days since we started this clean eating journey. The day I cleaned out the pantry I was scared. Many of the things we ate I knew weren't as healthy as the could be. Here is the criteria I was given by my coach:
What to avoid:
• All over processed foods particularly white flour and sugar
• All chemically charge foods...
• Food containing preservatives
• Artificial Sugars
• Artificial foods like sliced cheese
• Saturated and trans fats
• Sugar loaded beverages(juice)
• Alcohol intake(very limited)
• All calorie dense foods containing little or no nutritional value
• super sizing your meals
So I set out to clean my pantry with these simple guidelines. Here is a picture of what I got rid of:
So as you can see we had a lot of pasta, some condensed soups, Ketchup, and pasta sauce. The thing I was surprised was the worst thing in my pantry was the ranch dressing. It had so many chemical in it.
I also cleaned out the fridge. I had to through out BBQ sauce, dressing, and mustard. The fridge definitely was easier than the pantry.
So you want to get healthy let's start by looking at your pantry. IS there something you are questioning whether it is good or not? Use a program like Fooducate tm (http://www.fooducate.com/) to see how it rates. If it doesn't rate well pitch it.
Now 17 days later we are feeling great. Even my 4 and 2 year olds are loving eating healthy. Find support and start today.
